Gender Equality in Organisations Intro
Being an academic can be tremendously rewarding and engaging. For example, academics hopefully get the chance to conduct research on topics that they’re passionate about, and to contribute to the frontiers of knowledge.
However, being an academic can also be highly stressful. Long working hours, a highly competitive, sometimes hierarchical atmosphere, and the pressure to rapidly and continually publish academic work are just some challenges that academics face. Unfortunately, these seem to be taking their toll on mental and physical health for many academics.
