About the event

As we settle in the new year, it is the perfect opportunity to assess whether our work-life balance has taken a backseat to other demands.

Women researchers face a unique challenge when it comes to juggling the demands of academia and personal responsibilities. Academic roles demand long hours, coupled with the pressure to excel in research, teaching and securing grants. Without a clear action plan in place to manage these demands, work-life boundaries can become increasingly difficult to maintain, leading to burnout and reduced quality time with loved ones.

So how can you advance your academic career without compromising on work-life balance?

To dive into this topic, we have invited a special panel of female ARC Laureate Fellows, across different disciplines and institutions:

  • Professor Jacqueline Batley (University of Western Australia)

  • Professor Gabrielle Belz (The University of Queensland)
