Struggling to define your research focus, or looking for ways to evolve your existing research program in the right direction?
It can be hard to figure out whether it's best to concentrate on one topic in depth or to broaden your research horizons to many different topics. How do you get the right balance?
Clarifying your research focus is one challenge, but a second challenge is to then get your research done amongst numerous other responsibilities. Finding collaborators and participants, writing and publishing manuscripts, applying for institutional support and industry funding, and identifying ways to disseminate the research are just some of the steps.
In this upcoming webinar, lead of the Women in Research initiative, ARC Laureate Fellow and John Curtin Distinguished Professor Sharon Parker (Curtin University) will set the scene around how to plan for and implement a successful research program.
She will be joined by two female ARC Laureate Fellows - both from the University of Melbourne but from very different disciplines. Professor Joy Damousi comes from a Humanities perspective and Professor Leann Tilley from a STEM perspective. Both will share their in-depth wisdom and experiences on building their own research program and the lessons they learned along the way.
